Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer--they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one terrible and wonderful summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along.

Okay, if you need a cute summer read then definitely pick this one up! I love Jenny Han's writing style. You read in the past and in the now which is really cool. I LOVED the characters. You really bond with them. Now I finished the first book in the Summer trilogy, I can't wait for the other books to pick up!

Some parts in the book were a little bit slow, but near the end I just wanted to know everything. I thought that the two Beck's boys were awesome characters. I nearly melted when Conrad was introduced. Although I am more team Conrad, I really felt sorry for Jeremiah. And let's not forget Susannah, Honourable mention to her for being the embodiment of summer, and pretty much perfect.

I really recommend this book if you're looking for a summer beach read with romance in it!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.

Review | Of Poseidon by Anna Banks.

Galen, a Syrena prince, searches land for a girl he's heard can communicate with fish. It’s while Emma
is on vacation at the beach that she meets Galen. Although their connection is immediate and powerful, Galen's not fully convinced that Emma's the one he's been looking for. That is, until a deadly encounter with a shark proves  that Emma and her Gift may be the only thing that can save his kingdom. He needs her help--no matter what the risk. ~ Goodreads

The review: Emma started off as an incredible character. I fell in love with her right away. She's loyal, a great friend, just a tad awkward and funny. She meets a hunky guy on the beach after literally smashing into & sticking to his chest.

The hunky guy is called Galen. He's a syren who is serving as an ambassador between the human and Syrena worlds. Humans don't know yet they exist.

After an tragic accident in the sea, Emma discovers she's not just an ordinary human girl but that she has the gift of Poseidon. She can communicate with fish.

Galen feels the ''pull'' around Emma and knows right away they have to be mated.

I really enjoyed this book. The story line & world building were awesome. I maybe fell in love with Galen as well.. hehe. The character development was great.

I gave this book a 4/5 stars on goodreads.

I'll definitly will continue with this series.
